Please set aside October 5 on your calendar!! That is the day when Ascension will be recognizing the dedication of the Ogea New Testament. After more than 20 years of work, and more than 20 years of financial and prayer support, the Ogea New Testament in Papua New Guinea was dedicated on June 28. Pastor Arnie Voigt, his son Joshua, and Michael Colburn (one of the original translators) went to the dedication on our behalf.

On October 5, at our 8 and 10:30 a.m. services we will be celebrating that event. Pastor Randy Golter, former President of the Rocky Mountain District (2003-2012) and currently the Executive Director of International Missions for the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod will preach on that day. Pastor Arnie Voigt who served Ascension as pastor from 1975-2005 will lead the Bible Class and assist in the worship service.

Following the late service a meal will be catered by Romano’s, at no cost to you. A special missionoffering will also be gathered on that day to further the message of Christ in the world.

We hope that you can come and celebrate this milestone in the history of Ascension and among the Ogea people.
