SUNDAY SCHOOL

During these weeks when the coronavirus pandemic precludes meeting in Sunday school classes, we’ll email Sunday school lessons to our classes or have remote classes.  Due to copyright issues, most of these lessons will be emailed directly to the classes.  If you’d like to receive a copy of or link to the lesson, please contact Kathy Johnson at kathy.johnson@adatacorp.com.

Drive-through End of School Year Celebration THIS SUNDAYThis Sunday, May 17, we’re having a Drive-through End-of-School-Year Celebration at church! This is for all students of Sunday school and/or Wednesday Night Live. We’re inviting all students/parents/grandparents to drive through the parking lot at Ascension sometime between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. Since we can’t have our customary ice cream social as a group, we’ll try for the next best thing, a drive-through!

We ask kids/families/parents/grandparents to drive through the parking lot, without leaving the comfort of your vehicle! We’ll have ice cream treats and a small gift for each student. (Note that we’ll be giving out ice cream, so feel free to plan accordingly so it doesn’t melt before it’s consumed!) We’re inviting Sunday school and Wednesday Night Live teachers and staff to join us in distributing the goodies if they’re available.  Students can possibly see their teachers, greet them from 6 feet or more(!),and pick up their ice cream and gift.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact Kathy Johnson. Otherwise, we hope to see you THIS SUNDAY, MAY 17th, from 9:30-10:30!

The following are videos from our 5th and 6th grade Sunday school teacher, Mr. Collin.

SUNDAY SCHOOL PHILOSOPHY AND SCHEDULE, WHEN IN SESSION.

We believe that religious education is a life-long pursuit for Christians.

Every Sunday morning between the Traditional Worship and Contemporary Worship services, Ascension offers a plethora of study opportunities based on age and interests.

Adult Bible study takes place in the fellowship hall (lower level).  Topics include books of the Bible, topical studies, catechism refreshers and guest speakers/special presentations. Hours: 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. (9:15 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. during the summer).

Sunday School for children and youth of all ages.  Note: Sunday School takes a break during the summer months.  See the church calendar for exact dates. Hours: 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.

The church nursery is always available for children age 0-3 at this time as well.

Stop by the Welcome Center for assistance in locating the appropriate class for you.
